About PAT

Being raised and now living in Africa, with its abounding wildlife, from the tiniest, colourful tree frog to the great, giant elephant, and everything in between, has been my oy! Domestic animals, too, have a particular place in my heart. I have painted both with equal delight. I’ve just began painting since getting diagnosed with cancer in March 2023. One year later, my loving husband was diagnosed with cancer. I have a long way to go in watercolour painting, but it is extremely therapeutic and pleasurable.

I’m ‘a work in progress,’ therefore it stands to reason that my art is as well.
Animals are and always have been my passion. I’ve spent my entire life surrounded by animals of some type. I cannot imagine living without animals. I do not want to!

Animals in general inspire me, but looking at any animal’s eyes reveals so much more. The colours in their eyes are typically stunning and vary greatly from one animal to the next. They can tell you about their deepest emotions, such as fear, inquisitiveness, grief, wrath, and pure delight. I spend the most of my time painting their eyes, attempting to convey their story as best I can. But I’m still ‘a work in progress’ and have a lot to learn about watercolour painting.
